Privacy Policy

Last updated: 31 August 2026

NoGhost ("we", "us") operates a dating platform that helps you meet people locally and build real-world connections. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. By creating an account you agree to the practices described here.

1. Account data

When you register we store your email address and the name you sign up with. Your account record also includes a role label (member or admin) and the date you joined. We use your email to send match notifications, message alerts, and account-security emails.

2. Dating profile

The profile you build during onboarding stores your full name, username, age, pronouns, bio, tagline, photos, voice intro, video intro, interests, languages, relationship goal, and height. It also stores your location (the city you enter) and your approximate latitude and longitude so we can show you people nearby and the distance between you. You can set a maximum distance for who sees you. We also store your dating preferences (age range, who you're interested in, height range) to filter your Discover feed.

3. Reputation & activity

Your profile record includes a reputation score (everyone starts at 100), reply-timing stats (replies on time, total replies, missed replies), and daily usage counters (explores, likes, icebreakers used). We use these to surface reliable communicators and flag ghosting. Your last-online timestamp is stored and shown to other members as an online indicator. If you agree to the 48-hour reply pledge, that agreement is recorded on your profile.

4. Matches & messages

When you like someone we store a match record linking your profile to theirs, with a status (pending, matched, or declined), any icebreaker message you sent, the match timestamp, a 48-hour reply deadline, and a "ghosted" flag if the deadline passes. Every message you send in a conversation is stored with its text, and if you send a voice note or photo those file URLs are stored too. We use this data to show your conversations and enforce the reply pledge.

5. Connections & passes

We store a connection record for every profile you like, pass, or match with, so we don't show you the same person twice. Passed profiles are remembered to keep them out of your feed.

6. Events & RSVPs

When you create or RSVP to a local mixer we store the event details (title, activity type, description, location, date, time, image) and an RSVP recordlinking your account to that event with a "going" or "maybe" status. Other members can see which events you're attending on your profile and in the Discover feed.

7. Stories

If you post a story we store the photo and text you share. An automated job runs every day and deletes story records (the text and the photo link) once they are older than 24 hours. The underlying image file is hosted on our media platform (see section 14) and may remain in file storage for longer than the record — we do not guarantee the photo file is removed at the same time as the story record. If that matters to you, avoid posting photos to stories that you wouldn't want stored.

8. Calls

If you use in-app audio or video calls we store a call record with the caller and callee account IDs, call type, status, start and end times, and the WebRTC session data (offer, answer, and ICE candidates) needed to connect the call. Call content itself is not recorded.

9. Blocks & reports

When you block someone we store a block record linking your account to the blocked profile so they stay hidden. When you report someone we store a report record with the reported profile, the reason, and any note you add. Reports are visible only to our admin team for review.

10. Contact form

If you use the Contact form we store the name, email, and message you provide so our team can respond. You don't need an account to use this form.

11. Premium & payments

If you subscribe to NoGhost Premium or buy a Boost or Verified Badge, your profile is flagged with your plan and premium status. Payment processing is handled by Stripe; we do not store your card number — only Stripe does. We store the fact that a purchase was made so we can apply the feature to your account.

12. Referrals

Your profile stores your referral code and, if you used one, the code of the person who referred you. When a referral is completed we credit a free Boost to the referrer.

13. AI features & third-party processors

⚠ Heads up: several NoGhost features send the text and photos you enter to third-party AI companies. When you use these tools your input leaves our servers and is processed by those providers to generate a response.

We use the Base44 platform's AI integration, which routes your requests to large-language-model providers that may include OpenAI (GPT models), Google (Gemini models), and Anthropic (Claude models). The specific model is chosen automatically based on the task.

What gets sent:

  • Profile writer — your name, the notes you type, your interests, and what you're looking for.
  • Photo checker & photo verification — the photos you upload, sent as image files to the provider for visual analysis.
  • Icebreaker generator — a summary of the other person's profile so the AI can suggest opening messages.
  • Dating coach — the question or situation you describe, which may include personal relationship details.
  • Texting Practice Simulator — the full text of your practice conversation, including messages you type to the simulated persona. These can be personal or sensitive, so please don't share anything you wouldn't want a third party to process.

Training: NoGhost does not use your AI inputs to train our own systems. Whether the AI provider retains or trains on your input is governed by that provider's own terms and data-processing policies — we pass your request through the Base44 platform and do not control the provider's retention. If this matters to you, please avoid entering sensitive personal details into these features.

What we keep: We store the AI-generated result on your profile or in your practice session so you can use it, but we do not store the raw inputs you send to the provider beyond what's already on your profile.

14. Third parties we share data with

⚠ Your data leaves our servers. The companies below receive or process your data when you use the relevant features. We do not sell your data, and we do not use advertising tracking pixels that share your profile or messages with ad networks for targeted advertising.

  • Base44 — our app platform. Hosts the app, our database, authentication, file storage, email delivery, and analytics. All data you enter is stored on Base44's infrastructure.
  • Stripe — processes payments for Premium, Boosts, and Verified Badges. Receives your payment details directly; we never see or store your card number.
  • OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic — AI model providers (via Base44). Receive the text and photos you enter into AI features (see section 13).
  • Wix Media Platform (media.base44.com) — hosts your uploaded photos, story images, and AI-generated images. Files are served from this CDN.
  • Soro (app.trysoro.com) — powers the blog widget on our landing page. The widget loads a third-party script that may set cookies or collect visit data from your browser.
  • Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com) — delivers the web fonts used across the app. Your browser requests fonts directly from Google.
  • Meta / Instagram — we post event highlights to our Instagram account and read our own ad-campaign performance from Meta Ads. This is our marketing activity; we do not share your profile data or messages with Meta for ad targeting.
  • Email delivery (via Base44) — transactional emails (match alerts, message notifications, contact-form replies) are sent through the platform's email service to the address on your account.

15. How long we keep your data

We keep your account and profile data for as long as your account is active. Story records are deleted after 24 hours by an automated daily job (see section 7). Match, message, connection, event, RSVP, block, and report records are kept until you delete your account or request deletion. Contact form submissions are kept for as long as needed to respond and resolve your enquiry. Uploaded photo files (profile photos, story images) are stored on our media platform and may persist in file storage after the associated record is deleted — we do not guarantee immediate file removal.

16. Who can see your data

Other members can see your profile, photos, stories, the events you're attending, your reputation score, and your online status. Your private messages are visible only to you and your match. Blocks, reports, and contact submissions are visible only to you and our admin team. We do not sell your personal data.

17. Your rights

You can edit your profile, photos, and preferences at any time in the app. You can delete individual matches, messages, and stories. To permanently delete your account and all associated data, use our Delete my data page — it works without logging in. To request a copy of your data, contact us through the Contact page.

18. Children

NoGhost is for adults only. You must be 18 or older to create an account. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
